Feels so good to be loved...

I ain't even being loved it's just so refreshing to peak the interest of some new guys so I can get rid of the old Rolodex. I feel like this picture right now, and it feels so good!
Minus the white guys of course. I couldn't find a pic with black men surrounding a black girl. So just pretend they have some chocolate about them.

So I had been in a dating slump for a while, either I wasn't getting any offers, or I was ending up with the lame date. Yeah ya'll remember that story I'm sure.

But lately I have had some very interesting prospects. None of which I am taking seriously but it just feels so good to be able to chill with someone you actually have a good time with, or talk to someone on the phone where the conversation is actually interesting and engaging, and also when you get to the point that you don't have to reach out to anyone because someone is always calling , texting, or IM'ing you. It feels good to be getting all this attention if I do say so myself.

So let's go threw the prospects:

1. Let's call him "Semi-pro." He has a body to die for. 6'2 FB body so he is straight solid but has weight on him, not like the little RB. He's a year younger than me which I'm not too fond of, but he's college educated. Haven't brought up the kid question yet but he really doesn't seem like the type. He cooks, and is really close to his family. Straight sweetie pie (if teddy bears were rock hard, that's what he would be) and a clown every time I talk to him. I thought I liked to goof around... the first conversation we had and I asked him what he did for a living he said he was a porn star. I mean he set the whole story up and everything. Me being the new 2008, expanding my horizons was trying to be OK with it. He kept the story going for a bit too but when I started asking so many questions he finally just admitted that he was playing... I was too mad, but laughing inside, because he really had me going. He is such a cutie, and makes me smile. Plus he keeps the youth in me. We flirted in the club a couple times before we even exchanged numbers.

2. Let's call him "Oldie but Goodie." So this dude doesn't live in NY but we went to high school together. He had a crush on me back then but he was so quiet and I really wasn't into dating dudes that went to the same school. He was never ugly, just a little awkward, but we all were back then. So about 6 months ago he found me on myspace. When I say this man has really developed. I almost dropped dead when I saw his pictures. Such a scrumptulous something I couldn't even believe it. Hmmm, I wanted to move where he was right then. So we talked on the phone, really just to catch up, see what each other is doing etc. Then we talked maybe 2 times since. In the last week though we have been IM'ing almost everyday. Even though, I already knew, he revealed having a crush on me back then, and I told him I have a crush on him now. LOL, I am such a damn flirt. He's newly single, a genuinely good guy, and just got accepted to grad school that he will be starting in the fall for Industrial Engineering. No kids, and sexy as hell, I mean from the heart-shaped lips, to the chest that I could fall asleep in instantly, to his complexion that is that perfect shade of milk chocolate like a Twix or Kit Kat, and his skin is so smooth. The epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. I wish I could show you a picture but I ain't even gonna put him on blast like that. Damn its crazy how people change and develop. If I had known he was going to grow up to look like that, I would have held on to him and never let him go. Either way he lives in a city that I visit usually 3 times a year. I have a little bit of history there so we'll see how that develops.

3. Let's call him "Almost famous" by saying his name you probably wouldn't know who he is but he works in the music industry. Has a famous sister. We have been in the same circle at events but never formally met until this past Monday, and we have spoken every day since then. He's not the cutest, and I'm big on skin and he doesn't have the best skin, but he has the most gorgeous eyes. Plus he doesn't make my height requirement at all. He's a couple years older than me, and being in this industry where I know he's bagged plenty of groupies by association, he most likely has a kid or 2 or 3 floating around somewhere, but he's so damn sweet on the phone. We both love clowning each other, and he has invited me out twice already. I'm not with all that so soon so I passed, but he just called me an hour ago to do a late dinner and I may just go. He just stepped into the barber shop and said he would call me back. He is cool as hell though. We talked about playing Taboo together. I don't think I have ever met a man that loves Taboo as much as I do and he was all about making a Taboo date. I'll keep you updated on how that develops but he is way outside my perfect man box so I know this will just be for fun.

I have 2 more (one of which is out of town, and doesn't engage me enough to care; and another who has a girl but be chasing me like he's single) so there's no need to mention them. But the ones above, they really make me smile and that is one of the most important things to me. Before I even hear their voices, when my phone rings and the caller ID pops up, all my worries go away for a few minutes. And its not even love, its just the feeling of being wanted by someone, that someone is actually interested in you and wanting to get to know you. Not one sexual thing has come up with any of them, and none of the corny flirting.

So 2008 is starting off to be a good year as far as my social life is concerned. I needed to catch up anyway for it being so sporadic throughout 2007.

Congrats on the prospects! You love you some heart-shaped lips, huh? LOL.

I can't wait to get my dating on, even if it is just phone convos and IM's. These Wal-Mart lames/stalkers are getting on my nerves.

I'd say keep doing what your doing.... It sure feels good when your in such position... its funny how our "perfect man" list changes over time...

maverick January 25, 2008 at 1:24 AM

there's a sayin in the lands out here...loosely translated it goes like this..."when god gives..he doesnt give a handful but more than bucketfull".... :D

Adei von K January 25, 2008 at 5:31 AM

they all sounds like a good combo of what you need right now!! have your fun girl!

Eb the Celeb January 25, 2008 at 6:54 AM

@dollface - I aint being stingy... its my time to shine... I'm trying to catch up with ya'll...lol #3 is only gonna be a buddy so when I get done having fun i'll throw him ya way

@jewells - yeah the heart-shaped lips will do it every time... its crazy how I havent went on a date with any of them... but when you come out of a social drought, it is the little things like IM's and text messages that keep you happy

@deja - yeah he does... based on some stuff he said... i knew it took a lot for him to open up.. he's still pretty shy; the exterior has blossomed but he's still a sweety inside. We only talked a couple times b/c he had a girl... but since he has been newly single he has been reaching out to me a lot.

@koffee - 1 or 2 sides to my perfect man box has changed over the years but for the most part its stayed the same. On occasion I go outside the box just for fun, but as you can see I'm still single, so that bending the rules thing hasn't worked for me, so I plan on sticking with it for the most part.

Oh yeah im digging the site, and IM stealing that picture of the sister surrounded by white boys.

Last time a sister was surrounded by that many pale faces, a trip on the amistad happened.

Mr.Slish January 26, 2008 at 8:42 PM

YOU LIVE IN NYC!!!!! Better come to my SuperBowl Party in harlem gonna have to send you an invite...

James Tubman January 26, 2008 at 10:05 PM

well whup de doo

it's good to see that women are just as shallow as men

when i hear women talking about their perfect man they rarely say anything about their looks or body (that's how you know they are shallow as hell)

you keep it real so i'm not talking to you

but some don't

Eb the Celeb January 27, 2008 at 5:43 AM

@Slish- I already have a superbowl party in harlem that I'm going to but maybe I can make a quick halftime appearance... definitely send me the info

@James- Do we got beef son? Huh? I sense a lot of hostility. I'm not saying these men are at all perfect. Frankly I dont know that much about them yet, so the main thing I can go on is their looks to compare and contrast. I did mention parts of their personalities as well, and their personal achievements. Thank you very much.

Both me and women are shallow for the most part... if you want to call it that (personally I feel its just knowing what you want) but at least women have a purpose behind it, we are looking toward the future and imagining what our babies are going to look like... men are shallow for no rhyme or reason

ZACK January 27, 2008 at 1:56 PM

OUCH! I feel bad for the guy with bad skin.

At least you have choices from the opposite sex. I think that it's easier on women because they do the choosing. Men approach women more than the converse.

I'd say to look at the inner man because I'm not that physically attractive in most ladies' eyes, but I'm a sweetheart. I won't take a bullet for you, but I'll push us both out of the way of one.

It's not wrong to judge people on looks. Sh*t....I don't want a troll wife, or a girl who looks like Cyclops. But I don't want to pass up on an ugly girl with a beautiful heart. Plus, relationships are about YOU being the better looking person, not your mate.

Stay classy, and I'll hit your blog back real soon.

PEACE!

So...Wise...Sista January 27, 2008 at 2:02 PM

Dating in the City...yessss! The stories are gonna be fantastic *getting my popcorn* :)

Ooooh! He went to Wilson? I need a name!!

James Tubman January 27, 2008 at 2:41 PM

you have me laughing with that comment you just made

how in the world can you tell how your children will look based on how the man your judging looks

there's no way you can tell that

p.s. i like your new picture too

you look nice in purple

Eb the Celeb January 27, 2008 at 7:25 PM

@ So Wise... No way am I giving a name...

@James - LOL - put it like this... you have a better chance of having cute kids if than guy is attractive than if the guy is not so nice on the eyes.

and thx for the compliment... purple is my fav color!

Muze January 28, 2008 at 12:17 AM
