My Brother from another Mother...
In the newest issue of
Black Enterprise Magazine

So I got to give a big shout to my big brother CL. I love him to death...he really took care of me when I first moved to NYC in 2004...(oh and took me to a million parties as well... so disregard that Kettle one with Cranberry & OJ that I have in my hand...LOL) He knows how to have a good time but he is really all about business. He sent me a text on New Years Eve saying how we are going to take it to the next level in 2008. Well I started off the year a newly published freelance writer, and he started off the year getting an incredible feature in Black Enterprise Magazine... so I cant wait to see what's going to unfold for the remainder of the year.

FIRST, CL...I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!

CL has worked in the music industry since he was a teenager. Basically helped put Cornerstone mixtapes on the map, went on to be the Head of Rap promotions at Elektra... this is how I met him. I was working in radio... biggups to 102 JAMZ in Greensboro, NC... and he would call all the time trying to get the latest Fabolous or Missy Elliot record on. Then when Elektra merged with Warner and Atlantic he ventured out on his own to start Digiwaxx Media, which is a digital music promotion company. This was when deejays were just starting to shy away from deejaying with records and using mp3 and CD mixers instead. He has been able to break thousands of record for various labels and independent artists. He is the main reason that MIMS record "This is why I'm hot" blew up the way it did. I remember I heard the record almost a year before it hit mainstream radio, but he really believed in it, and you see how far it went. Since he has expanded the company, locking in lifestyle promotional campaigns with Microsoft Zune, Adidas, and so forth. His entrepreneurial spirit and drive really encourages me, and makes me believe that I too can step out on faith and take that leap one day to run my own ish.

Anyway, this post wasn't really suppose to pay homage, it was to let you know that he, along with his partner Neil (Who I love just the same) are featured in the February issue of Black Enterprise Magazine. Here is the lay-out but make sure you pick it up for yourself.

Congrats to both you and your boy. May 2008 be a year filled with infinite possibilities that we all open our heart to. May we all receive our blessings. May we all travel beyond our deepest fears into the space of divine light and love. I love the Marianne Williamson quote you have posted. You have a very positive site. Peace and Love, Ananda

Congrats on being published!

I love to see people doing well! Wasn't it great to have someone in your corner when you first got to the city! My mentor was in the last B.E.!
