So not a big fan of Diddy... but I know the promoter so I just got in the house from the Bad Boy R&B showcase at Spotlight in NYC. It ended up being the best night I've had in a while. First and foremost... every big name in the record industry was there...If I was still working in music I would have been a networking hog, from Missy Elliot to Mona Scott, Lyor Cohen, Harve Pierre, Kevin Liles, the list goes on. I got to rub elbows with some cats that I have worked with before, like my boy Zab...
and also met some vets in the game...
Act like you don't remember Onyx if you want to... and also a chance to meet some up and comers.... I love Janelle Monae... she rocked the house like no other... If you don't know who she is look her up right now. (She's the one in the center... the chick on the left is my roommate, Joy)
oh... and Ray J was there too...
I have to give a big shout to my boy Q aka Qwanell from MTB4 for making the band. They did soooooooooo good last nite. It was so refreshing seeing the final product after we road the same flight home back to Rochester, NY for Thanksgiving and I basically got the lowdown of the gyst of the new season that premiered this past Monday. He was so excited about the new season and I want to take this time to let him know that we are so proud of you, so biggups to the peeps born and raised in the ROC, and it was so good seeing you tonight. Cheri Dennis, and Danity Kane also performed. Cheri, I love your voice, but she puts me to sleep every time I see her on stage. She has absolutely no stage presence; and although I don't like any of the music that has been released by Danity Kane lately, their stage presence was crazy. They had me rocking to a song that I don't even like. (Biggups to E who just posted pics of D Woods in the new King magazine. She rocked it tonight) They have really gotten their ish together since they first made the band and I saw them performing at the ESPN All-star party in Houston in 2006, because that was a hot mess that need not be revisited.

Anyway, it was an eventful evening. I almost forgot how wonderful it is to network. I met some billionaires tonight ya'll (of course not the ones above... the billionaires are the ones in the quiet corners that no one notices) and that's just the boost I needed to get back on the grind and enjoy life!
