RBW Spotlight - Phylicia Rashad

She embodies the true essence of being a Renaissance Black Woman on and off the screen. She is a fellow graduate of an HBCU and even though her beloved Howard University has a lifelong rivalry with my Alma-mater North Carolina A&T State University, its still all love.

I am smiling as I write this in remembrance of her elegance as Claire Huxtable. Raising 5 children, well 6 if you count Cliff, while also being a lawyer, and all without missing a beat. She has also been a exemplary part of the Broadway scene and her most influential role was when she played Lena in Raisin in the Sun" in 2004. In this role, she became the first African American actress to win the Tony for Best Performance by a Leading Actress. Unfortunately, I was unable to see this award winning show on Broadway but lucky for me Raisin in the Sun will air on ABC on Feb. 25th. Here is the trailer.

Phylicia still looks good. Too bad she isn't on TV regularly anymore.

Awwww, I remember wanting to be just like Claire as a child, heck, I still want to be like Claire. She was so calm, suave, and smart. Great post
