There should really be a "food stamp only" line at the grocery store and my Blog Valentine Application

It never fails, everytime I go to the damn grocery store I end up in the same line as someone paying with foods stamps. Now I dont have anything against people that have to use them, they are available for a reason, so get what you can from the government and my tax dollars. But why oh why do you not manage what you put in your cart. Every damn time! This hasnt happened to me once, or twice, or even 3 times for that matter, I mean every time I go to the grocery store ya'll are holding up my line. I have the worst luck. Most days I am only getting a couple things so I just want to get in and get out but I cant because of you.

First offense, they put everything in the grocery store in their cart. Stuff they dont even need just piling up in the cart. Then they get to the register and have to separate items. So they spend 15 minutes filtering threw everything in the cart because some of the stuff in the cart they are going to have to pay cash for.

Second offense, they let the cashier ring up all that stuff and then look at the amount and start telling the cashier to take some stuff off. Why do you not know how much you have in food stamps ahead of time? Food stamps are just like money. If I only have $100, I'm not going to put $200 worth of groceries in my cart. Please when your shopping keep a blind amount of the cost of the things you are putting in there so that when you get up to the register you wont go over.

I felt like doing that new Souljah Boy song and saying Yaahhhh... right in that lady face! They need their own line... so that they can all hold up the line for people that are about to do the same thing. That way no one gets mad because they all know what it is, and the people like me can get in and get out of the grocery store with ease.

Then on top of that, all over the grocery store was Valentines day stuff. Chocolates, teddy bears, pink and red all over the damn place. For a second I forgot that Valentines Day was a month away, mainly because I dont have one. So I'm taking applications for my blog valentines date. A virtual date if you will, where me and the person will blog together on valentines night. I havent come up with all the logistics yet... but I'll see if there is even an interest yet and then make up some kind of contest or something for those who are interested in being my valentines blog boo.

Why do I get the feeling that you gonna set up a blog valentines date and then get a real one and forget about us? LOL

I guess I don't have to deal with the food stamp people since I only go to the store after midnight when normal people are home.

Nah, it wont happen. Girls have to work on the Valentines Day for at least 6 months. You know ya'll men have a complex about taking a chick out on that night, because it may be taken to mean way more than it is. We are within weeks of feb. 14th so I dont have nowhere near enough time to bag a boo that will make it a memorable night... So RASHAN where you at???LOL

How I so miss living in NC. Super Walmart was 5min from my house and I would always go in the middle of the night. Sometimes on my way home from the club. But I'm in NYC... there's no walmart. In harlem, if you want some quality groceries, you have to go to Pathmark, and it is the worst! But you gotta eat right!

Ya know what.....
I do hate when this happens!!

BUT!..and I say BUT!!!

I thank GOD, because it could have been me. So, when I think abt how this person inconvenience has costed me some time. I rememember the grace and mercy of God. It could have been me. So, I am thankful to have a job that pays well and I can afford my groceries. I am humbled.

Peace!

So true ticia... I am truly grateful that I dont need them but come on... they still know how much is on their card before they get to the counter... that is just ridiculous. Like your grandma used to say when you fixed a plate of food that was far more than you could eat "Your eyes are bigger than you stomach"

lmao @ working on a v-day date for 6 months. You need to post the details because sitting on the computer blogging for V-day sounds kinda depressing. Even if I'll probably just sit home and watch TV which isn't much better.

food stamp line!!! LOL!!

I take it you're one of those people who hate when others have more than 10 things in the '10 or less' line

I was at the dollar store when this dude asked the cashier to take some stuff off... like half his cart. not amused cause all i wanted was some stickers for my class.

They put the food stamps on a card here, so people try to front like they're using a credit card to pay for the food. i always get stuck behind them folks. Oh and whenever I go to the hood store, it's like I always find someone who wants to sell me food stamps for cash. That's hilarious. I can't even front. I do it some times, especially when it's like a 20 dollar for 35 dollar exchange. Saving that good ole money!

Oh, and I think I might have an opening on that day now ;)

How you gonna leave that comment on my blog? I can't even front. I am happy anout it now. It seems kind of wrong, but it's the truth.

and you are such a jinx! Why I got to the supermarket and get stuck behind someone who was arguing with the cashier about how much food stamp credit she had left on her card! I immediately thought of you. Thanx a lot!
