The Chase...

Remember when you were a child, you were considered "fass" if you were the little girl that went around chasing all the little boys. Well when your an adult there's no word for it. You also don't even know how to go about it. Some men like the aggressive woman that goes after what she wants. Some men like being approached by women because it shows their confidant. Other men want to be the aggressor, they like the chase too much to let a woman have the control. In the dating environment though, their is no way for a women to tell when she should go after that sexy something passing her by on the street, or to sit seductively at the bar and give subtle eye contact to let him know that your interested so that he will come and approach you.

So here's a lyric that expresses the frustrations behind chasing a man.

The Chase

Used to getting attention
Usually the one being chased
Not conceited, just confidant
I can't help it I have a cute face
My personality is addictive
and my legs are killer
1 guy calls me 3 or 4 times a day
and another cooks me dinner
But this poem isn't about me or them
It's about the guy I really want
Others hound while he pays me no attention
No matter how much of my ass I flaunt
I'm not use to doing all the chasing
and it's starting to get on my damn nerves
I'm not use to being the one asking him to spend time
and he even passed on endulging in my curves
Maybe he's just not that into me
Nah - he's just playing hard to get
Still pursuing after 3 months, and I'm not giving up
I knew he was different from the first day we met

First off, he's from the south so he's a "country boy"
and I'm used to dealing with these NY guys
Ones that have no depth and dont want to know my mind
While he values what I say, and always looks me in the eyes
Like no other, he challenges me mentally
You wouldn't believe the words we've shared
Lyrics of assurance to be patient makes me continue to chase
I wouldn't pursue if I didn't think he cared
But he's too nonchalant about his feelings for me
So I have to decide if I want to put in this much work
It's starting to be more about my ego than a genuine love and interest
and since there's a lack of attention, there's obviously no perks
So I have to make the decision if it's even worth it
This situation is most definitely a change of pace
All ego's aside, love isn't suppose to be easy
So for my true love, I'll continue to chase

If the drama can't get him, maybe the sex can.

Nah, let me stop playing. You know how much you like to fight. Always raising your voice trying to intimidate a man...

Look @ you keeping secrets and ish. From the looks of it, you got something on your mind. You know what you have to do, right? Get it off your mind.

Do you really want this person? Or is it simply about the chase.

That's my advice to you, ebonne.

very nice

you do have killer legs too lol

it seems like you are really searchin for that special one

you know it's really not that hard for a woman to find a good men

you see men everywhere

from a statistical point of view, if you asked half of the guys you see on a daily basis out on a date

you would get the man you wanted within a matter of days lol

definately appreciated the poem, and i understand the struggle. Bein down south in THIS city- most women are the aggressors cause men just don't really approach; however further south (Tampa and MIA) they are definately the ones who persue (inappropriately of course). The best guys though; I've noticed, they are always the ones who take a step, sometimes small and unnoticed, but they always take one... you just need to pay a little bit of attention... and then POUNCE...lol

lol@tubman - that's ridiculous (slight smirk)... statistically speaking is not a phrase that belongs amongst men and women relations since it truly means NOTHING...lol

James Tubman January 29, 2008 at 9:53 PM

@desy... excuse me lol

statistics are never accurate but they can often give you a ruff estimation of what's really going on

so there lol

Ahhhh, yes. The chase! It's always the ones we don't want chasing us down - and the ones we want, not even giving us the time...Love the lyrics!

Girl, tell 'em! The guy you want is never calling you. It's alwys the scallywags you don't like that want to pay you all the attention.

I will do a little chasing.. Just a little bit---

I basically will make sure he notices me...and leave it at that...

I don't like chasing a man... b/c they are supposed to do that-- not me :)
