Uninspired...but music makes me high

Be back when I am... don't know if it will be 1 day or not until next year... not a blog break at all just so tranquil with the world at the moment that nothing is moving me.

I did go to this last night though

Surprise performances included:

Jim Jones, Chrisette Michelle, Ryan Leslie, Freeway, Young Chris, Pusha T.

and then 9th Wonder, Rhymefest, Jay-Z, Raheem Devaughn, and Chris Partlow from the Wire were there looking on.

It was a great night in Hip Hop.

Quick notes :
Not feeling the Cudi dude
Mark Ronson is one of the sexiest white boys alive
I am in love with Young Chris
UCB is slowly but surely starting to battle the Roots for my fav band
Colin Monroe is that deal. He IS his band... the dude sang, played drums, and keyboard.

Thx to my boy Jesse for putting me on the VIP list, no thx to Jesse for embarassing me.
You ever mention to someone in passing that someone is cute. Well I did that and Jesse done went and told the dude and brought him up to me after the show like we were in middle school being hooked up. Ugh!

Music never stops so I'll still be posting on Jonesin' in the meantime. So check me over there if you really miss me!

Song of the Moment : WALE feat. Young Chris, Freeway, & Beanie Sigel "Cyphr"

"Jonesin" is close to knockin "Okayplayer" out of the top spot on my music blog list..that and "The Stepfather of Soul"'s blog.

Glad you had a nice night at that concert. It looked like fun.
That's the kool thing about New York..You can just be walking down the street and run into so many celebrities and famous people..That's why I love to visit.

@Keith - Whoa... my site aint nothing close to Okayplayer... but I'm trying to get on their level

@peyso - he was bananaz... I just saw him a month ago at CMJ and it was like I never saw him... he did just about the same set and yet it was so different...he's real arrogant on stage but its welcoming and shows his swag.

Jada December 10, 2008 at 11:44 AM

LOL @ your friend. I think he was tryna be helpful...but he shoulda asked first.

Keith December 10, 2008 at 12:08 PM

You get all of the hot tracks that
don't appear on the CD, that I can't find anywhere else.(ie-Beyonce's "Next Ex" and "Settle 4 U" and Jazmine Sullivan's "Best of Me") Lovin "jonesin" more and more.
Told some of my friends about you.

I'm not a huge Wale fan, but I respect his hustle and like that he brings a Go-Go band around with him. I'm sure his live performances are crazy.

Fabulous B December 10, 2008 at 12:30 PM

I love UCB! There really is nothing better than live go-go band! You have to come to DC and check out some shows!!

Eb the Celeb December 10, 2008 at 12:42 PM

@Keith - Well thx for the love... I really appreciate it

@Dave - I'm not a "huge" fan either... but he rocks a stage and can compile a crafty mixtape... now we just have to see if that underground feel can translate commercially. We shall see when the album drops in April '09

@Fabulous - No no no no no..not a fan of go-go at all. Have no desire to hear just a go-go band... had enough of that in college and dont ever want to go back... sorry... I just can't listen to it all night...everything starts sounding the same... but mixed in with Hip Hop like Wale does it... I can listen all night.

Eb, I have to tell you that my gay BFF did that to me one night, but his intoxicated ass not only embarassed me by tellin this dude that I thought he was hot but he brought me back the WRONG DUDE! The poor wrong dude was all excited and I had to just walk away. It was actually quite hilarious.

All that to say, don't you love when your friends are just tryna look you out? :)

Otis December 10, 2008 at 1:31 PM

Eb the Celeb December 10, 2008 at 4:51 PM

@FU - yeah Jesse is a white dude... this is def only something that white dudes and gay friends do... maybe even ya home girl when she's drunk...lol

thanks contagiously!

@Nola - 9th wonder didn't perform... he was just there... watching just like me

@O - I didnt say they were better than the Roots... but they are giving them a run for their money... They sound amazing... the horns, the drummer, the piano players... its magical

My friend did me like that couple of months back. I was eyeing a dude in an orange shirt. He said to me "damn you looking at 'orange shirt' hard". 30 minutes later he brings 'orange shirt' over but it's the wrong dude. I was mad as hell.

Better than The Roots?! I got to check them out then. You know The Roots are now the house band on The Late Show.
