Reasons why you gain weight!

It's crazy. I ate whatever I could all threw high school (but I was running track)... drank all that I could in college (but was backing it up and dropping it in the club, so I guess you can consider that a work out) and never gained one lick of weight. Even lossed a couple pounds in my junior year because I was interning, working, and taking 21 credits in one semester so I could graduate early... all while having a boyfriend that was driving me in sane. After graduation I got healthy again and was back to my normal self. I moved to NYC on Labor Day in 2004 and immediately lost weight. It was crazy. I had been so used to drving everywhere and now I was walking all the time. Since that initial loss I have now gained about 15 pounds... and I want to lose all of them. I have been walking to a train that is farther away, and was even working out for a while this past summer.... and only lossed maybe 3 pounds. I couldnt figure out why and basically stopped trying. I came accross this article though in Essence magazine (the one with Keyshia Cole on the cover) and realized that 4 out of the 8 reasons apply to me.

1. I'm not getting enough sleep. I dont know what is wrong with my body but no matter how late I get in at night, I am still up bright and early. Gosh I hate that!

2. I dont make enough trips to the grocery store. It's crazy how much time and money I spend eating out.. instead of just keeping some food in my fridge. In my defense though I am hardly ever home so when I do buy groceries most of what I bought goes bad so I usually only go to the store when there is something that I know I will eat soon.

3. My job tempts me with bad snacks. From them ordering food in for meetings, to the happy hours... my job definitely has a big part in me gaining a few pounds. I swear in the winter I live at the hot chocolate machine.

4. I'm just getting older. I've come to that realization. I dont have the desire to go out as much. I dont have the desire to party as much. When I do go out I'm just chilling for the most part... not dancing that much, and make frequent trips to the bar. I need to see how many calories are in a kettle one with cranberry and OJ because I consume quite a few of those a week.

It's not about how much you weigh. It's about what's in your heart. You didn't eat your heart too, did you?

and no i didnt eat my heart... i was born without one...lol!
