Caring is so overrated. Most times its forced because you may need something from someone, some situations even cause you to act as if you don't care as to not get hurt. The fine line between being disrespectful and just not caring what anyone else thinks. Than there's those instances that you care so much for something or someone that isn't worthy and have to make yourself not care for your own sanity. Despite the turmoil caring may bring, its needed. In its purest and most genuine state it makes the world go round; smooths out the rough edges in love. I'm a cynic when it comes to caring because when I do care there isn't anything I wouldn't do for someone. Although I care for few, I do fancy the acts involved. Here are a couple quotes that remind me that caring ain't all that bad, its choosing the right people to care for that's the hard part.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
~Leo F. Buscaglia
I feel the capacity to care is the thing which gives life its deepest significance.
~Pablo Casals
Life is short, don’t waste time worrying about what people think of you. Hold on to the ones that care, in the end they will be the only ones there.

It's your unlimited power to care and to love that can make the biggest difference in the quality of your life.
~Anthony Robbins
Care is the ingredient that keeps true friendships alive despite separation, distance, or time. Care gives latitude to another person and gets you past the dislikes and annoyances. Quite simply, caring sustains love.
~Sara Paddison
Care inspires and gently reassures us. Lending us a feeling of security and support, it reinforces our connection with others — whether we're giving or receiving it. The more we truly care, the more we'll come to know ourselves and others. Care provides the key to unlocking our potential and making it real.
~Doc Childre and Howard Martin
