The world would be a nicer place if...

God, the almighty, the beginning and the end, my savior, my strong tower. Now I know God has made no mistakes in anything that he has done... But what if we had the chance to sit down with God and he gave us 3 things that we could do that we felt would make the world better. Here are my 3 and feel free to share yours in the comments.

1. Men would have to had at least one period in their lifetime. I'm not that cruel so they don't have to bleed once a month like we do but I just feel if they had to experience it just one time there would be a lot less battery on women, rape, cheating, etc. I really feel if men had to experience that between the ages of 17-25, they would have a higher respect for women and the world would be a better place.

2. If you got to age 21 without killing someone or seriously injuring them, having sex, or doing anything significantly wrong and against the ten commandments you would automatically get $100,000 direct deposited into your bank account. Just imagine... there would be little to no teen pregnancy, everyone would start their adult life basically on the same playing field and whether they were rich or poor by being a good person you are rewarded.

3. Everyone was purple. No lilac or plum or fuchsia just straight purple. If everyone's skin was purple that would alleviate racism; if everyone's skin tone was the same there would be none of this light-skinned people have it easier than dark-skinned people mess. And I know ya'll are probably thinking I'm crazy for saying purple but you know that's my favorite color and if we were already purple you wouldn't think it was strange...lol

So what would you ask God to make the world a nicer place? And none of this end world hunger, or philanthropy stuff like that, be creative in your responses. Happy Monday!

I really like #3. That is a great idea.

Beautifully.Conjured.Up November 10, 2008 at 9:03 AM

I like your list! I would ask God to:

1. Answer my questions in a more direct way...in other words tell me b/c sometimes these signs go right over my head

2. He could give me super powers...I would love to have that.

3. Remove all of the haters...whether they are racists or not, they need to be removed.

The Jaded NYer November 10, 2008 at 9:42 AM

I would only ask for one- take away our free will; that's what gets us into trouble...

ToshaRenelle November 10, 2008 at 9:57 AM

God could make the world a nicer place, by every 5 years or so, making me a size 8 who is fit and in shape, LOL!

I like all of your's Eb. I would say there would be no drugs, no cocaine, heroine, or even weed. No addictions either, people wouldn't lose their families and homes to feed an addiction and young people wouldn't waste their brilliant minds getting high.

I really like your list, but I think that if we were all purple, we would still find ways to separate ourselves and create hierarchies. I guess it's human nature. Hopefully I'm wrong. I can't think of anything though...

The Activist November 10, 2008 at 10:52 AM

I will ask God to make the world understand that women are not second fiddle and that they are equal partners in the world. Just a simple request

Sha Boogie November 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM

I am so down with #1!!

Everyone had the same educational opportunities regardless of status, children, wealth etc..

Urban Thought November 10, 2008 at 11:08 AM

You say purple would be the color of choice for skin color and the eradication of racism. I'd go so far as saying blindness. You will no longer judge people by the way they look. Not just the color of their skin but the fact that they may be ugly or good looking. We'll have to base it on personality and touch. But then again you won't get so far with the touch if you recognize a bunch of pimples on someone's face.

But yeah... It will also give you the appreciation of being able to see. So if everyone could experience that at least one time then that would be wonderful.

Expand your #1 to childbirth. Should lessen the unwanted births and criticisms of body changes after birthing a child.

Eliminate personal financial gain. People would receive wealth based on how they treat others.

If we haven't found 'the one' before the age of 30, he should drop us note from heaven with his/her name.

Keith November 10, 2008 at 12:35 PM

I like number #2 the best...I think I could've managed that.
With the exception of not having had sex, I practically did manage that by 21...and in retrospect,I could have waited a few years before doing that too in hindsight.

To answer your question though..I would ask God to give everybody a day to switch places with the other..Men to live one day as a Female, Black people to live one day as a White Person and vice versa..or as an Asian, Hispanic,
American Indian, Arab or Jew.et al
I think if we all walked in each others shoes..we would have a better appreciation of each other.
I know that I didn't really appreciate what women go through until I had a daughter and watched her grow into a woman...with the dating and all..then I truly understood.

Charles (Illumistrations) November 10, 2008 at 12:37 PM

Purple though?? Wow...I'm with you on the alleviate racism, but purple is ummm....weird.

Eb the Celeb November 10, 2008 at 12:40 PM

@Urban thought - indeed being blind for a day would make people appreciate what they have more

@Southern Gal - yes yes yes yes... I like that one... with address and phone number too

Monique November 10, 2008 at 12:43 PM

I love number 3 and I love Southerngal's comment about a note from heaven with the name of "the one" on it.

GangStarr Girl November 10, 2008 at 12:55 PM

I really like #1 lol.

I also think everyone should have to experience life in a wheel chair or incopacitated at least for a week, just to know what it feels like. People need more compassion when it comes to disabled people.

Mr.Socialight November 10, 2008 at 1:38 PM

lol@#1

How about no periods, period. The whole world would be a better place. Pregnancy without periods.

Yea, complete happiness in love by 30. sounds good.

Skoolboi Krush November 10, 2008 at 1:54 PM

I wish good would give you a chance at 30 to hit a "do over" button and go back to 21 with all the knowledge that you've gained.

Tiffany S. Jones November 10, 2008 at 3:17 PM

1. Somebody could guarantee that everyone who wanted a job would have one that pays a living wage.

2. People would be smart enough to learn from the mistakes of others so that they don't spend their 20s cleaning up messes.

3. Credit card folks would not be able to set foot on college campuses or offer free stuff to get kids to apply for them.

Miss Lovely November 10, 2008 at 3:40 PM

1.Cheesey but if there was no sickness/disease..but wait, then i'd be out of a nursing job (N/M!!!)

2. Orgasm's EVERY time (ladies of course). Maybe there wouldn't be so many angry bitches in the world..

3. No winter time (I hate winter w/a passion)

RunGirl. November 10, 2008 at 4:08 PM

I love #2. Very creative.

and lol@ #1. I agree. Just once would make a world of difference.

Anonymous November 10, 2008 at 5:05 PM

i looove number one. that should start like yesterday.

Mo November 10, 2008 at 6:25 PM

i like that purple one...and not just cuz my favorite color is purple.

Eb the Celeb November 10, 2008 at 6:40 PM

@mr socialight - yup that would work too...

@ms. lovely - I hate winter too (sigh)

CHA CHA November 10, 2008 at 7:24 PM

I would say that God would not bless people with unwanted children. OR people that clearly dont deserve to be parents for whatever reason.

Lovely and Lively November 10, 2008 at 7:26 PM

Ok heres my three: (Im writing these as i go so they might be a lil shaky)

1) God should take away all the hostility just for one day. We wouldnt be able to get an attitude. I mean too many people are walking around ready to snap at somebody.

2) God should allow men to feel like we feel when they treat us the way they do. Like as soon as the man did something that was wrong. He would immediately feel exactly how we feel.

3) There should be at least one day a week where everybody can just take off and do what they want. no classes to attend or no job to wake up and rush off to. We could just relax and not worry about a thing.

i know they cheesy but thats all i got>> LOL

Mr.Slish November 10, 2008 at 7:42 PM

Why EB WHHHHHY!!!! Nucca's don't wanna bleed like that...Its bad enough nature puts women through it...Number one was just mean...lol

Eb the Celeb November 10, 2008 at 7:53 PM

@poca - yeah that's a good one

@lovely and lively - yeah your number 2 is right on point... and vice versa... everytime you wrong someone you would immediately feel what they are feeling... that would stop a lot of hate in the world

@slish - see... just the thought is making you straighten up...lol

clnmike November 10, 2008 at 7:57 PM

I agree with Mr. Socialight

I'll go with no periods for every one cause I aint bleeding unless I get shot!

cherry's kid November 11, 2008 at 12:04 AM

1 - When you meet the one and you're the one for him too then a big sign flashes above both of your heads to say "he/she is here go for it" and there would be a lot less bullshit in relationships because hey here's the one.

2 - divorce wouldn't occur because we would have number 1.

3 - extreme poverty would be eradicated...of course there are going to be some have nots...but the having nothing at alls would not exist they would have a least something so there would be have somethings and have mores but that's it. Does that make sense?

Anonymous November 11, 2008 at 1:48 AM

Can you imagine all the men that are looking at this blog and saying WTF...a period...come one..

Hell I want them to have a baby, and see how it feels to push the baby out...and then be pressured for sex 2 days later...LMAO

Miss Mika November 11, 2008 at 2:00 AM

Hi there Ms Eb.

First off, I have to say, the first song that played on your play list is BEAUTIFUL!!! (Valediction by The Foreign Exchange). I am so diggin that!!!

I really like your three things to make the world a better place... especially the 1st one. That would really give them an idea of what women go through. I'd take it a step further and say let them experience labor. Not actually have the baby, but experience the contractions and pain bringing a child into the world. I bet that will make them think twice when it came to having unprotected sex as well as being a dead beat dad.

She W0rd Hustlez November 11, 2008 at 8:56 AM

I dig the purple thing. Hell, I dig all 3 of your ideas. This was excellent!

Still Patrice November 11, 2008 at 11:45 AM
