My heart has never beat so hard in my life. Usually I was the one who went to the door to get the artists when they came in and got them ready for their interviews. Bring them into the studio, get them all set up with their headphones and whatnot. I get to the station and I tell my boss, I don't want to go get him. Told him I was so nervous I didn't even want to be in the studio when they did the interview. I would just go to the concert they were doing that night and be content with that. Boss asked me if I was sure and I said yes.
His entourage called the studio like 30 minutes before 50 was to arrive to let us know that his security was there. We had to let loads of security in the building before he would enter to check all entrances, exits, etc. Til this day I will never understand who he thought was going to try and get him in Greensboro, NC but then I thought about it, as soon as you let your guard down no matter where you are is when you leave yourself open to get got.
My boss called me in the studio right before 50 walked in to bring him some research. I thought I was going to be able to leave before he entered but I was wrong. In he walks and I thought I was going to melt. I couldn't even look at him. Banks was with him and a nobody at this point. Didn't even say a word the entire time. You can even see Young Buck in the corner of this pic.
I think 50 could feel how nervous I was. He introduced himself, shook my hand, and asked me if I could write down the name of every person that worked for the station, including the interns so he could sign glossies. While I was writing I felt him staring at me, when I looked up he said "Oh you're left handed. I'm left handed too." I was smiling from ear to ear.
He really sat there, even after the interview was over, until every autograph for every person at the station was signed. Here's mine.
Radio station perks were the best. I had front row to a concert that was suppose to be general admission. He shouted me out at the end of the show "biggups to my girl Ebonne from 102 Jamz jamming in the front row." I knew every last word to every damn song and was yelling it hard. I could have been his hype girl I was jammin so hard. When I smell p*ssy dropped I just about lost my damn mind.
That was my jizzam back in the day. Here are a couple pics from that concert.
I've had the pleasure of meeting him 2 times after that. One of which was when he came back to the station the following year because he was performing at North Carolina A&T's homecoming concert and he remembered my name. I couldn't believe it and it made me melt all over again. He signed the cover of my Get Rich or Die Tryin' album this time, which I still keep in plastic til this day because that album was classic. I've also seen him at least 3 more times in concert since then.
I was so crushed when I didn't have an in into his party at his CT mansion a couple years ago.
Then just when I was starting to fall a little bit out of love with him, his skin started clearing up and he ups and gets his teeth fixed.
Now although I'm not as in love with his music anymore, I still love this man. He doesn't even have to make music anymore as far as I'm concerned. Just record himself laughing. I love his laugh. Tickles me every time I hear it.
I don't always agree with the beefs he chooses to take on, primarily because I feel that he has the clout to pick and choose his battles, yet he just goes at anyone... I still love him.
He is most definitely a Renaissance Black Man. The empire he built while he was making it to the top was genius. The movies, the books, thisis50.com... whether you feel he has fell off musically or not, you can't deny how business savvy he is and whether you like him or not, whenever he is on the news you are interested in the specifics of the story.
His most recent multimedia masterpiece is the weekly series "Pimpin Curly." Here is the latest episode.
50 Will you marry me?

As much as I despise his music and just about everything around him (G Unit??? Are you serious...), I gotta admit, he's kinda funny as hell. I wasn't a firm believer until I heard him on the Russ Parr morning show one day talking about that Officer Ricky song...and I was rolling listening to the whole interview. So, I agree with you today. I don't start beef every time Eb...see??
OMG Eb I was in love with some 50 too! Me and my cousins and my homegirl! I thought we were the only females bumping all his underground cds hard. Lawd when he did the re-remake songs of Ja singing over already made tracks I died laughing! Those are still some of my favorite cds. I used to tell my cousins I would love to hang out with him cause he always sound like he having a good time! Always laughing through his tracks.
I freaking stanned for this dude. When Get Rich or Die Trying finally hit the street (yes I was the first with a copy...took my @ss to the store at 11:00pm the night before), Everybody killed it! That's all you heard played on campus!
And I'm with you...even though I don't get into his music so much anymore he still has some sort of undeniable charm about him. His business savvy is out of this world. Don't ever have to make another track if he don't want to. I'll always be a 50 fan. He that dude (stupid beefs and all).
I love me some fiddy.. just his swagga alone just makes any girls cooch jump (sorry for the TMI moment) I couldn't have been you, I would have sure enough collapsed on the floor!
Girl you got it good. A hug, and not one but two autographed things from 50... sheeeeettt!!
I think he's hilarious, though he doesn't have to beef with anyone I love when he does, cause he's so disrespectful its funny. He gets at anyone and the nitty gritty things that he finds is beyond me.
OFFICCERR RIICCCKKKYYY!! ha ha ha ha hahaha...
OH MAN!
Your so fortunate to have actually met the guy that you have a major crush and are a big fan of, I'm still holding out hope that I will one day meet J. Holiday....
50 eh, im kinda indifferent towards him even though I watched that money and the power reality show he had, not all the way to the end though, dont know who won
And I actually liked the movie of his life, i was hating on it b4 i seen it, but it was pretty good
I can't help but to laugh at this post...LMAO!!!
He has always been kinda cute to me...even with the f'ed up teeth back in the day. But the bod had always been on point...And I loved "Get Rich or Die Trying".
But real talk, what happened with his show on MTV??
He is fine though!! I dont blame you. You have a fantastic job!
When he came to London Leicester Square to promote his film I saw a group of 14 year old girls lined up ready to scream him down the red carpet.
In my mind I knew it wasnt a good idea but I let my inner child out and I lined up with them. It was fun!
I was never really a fan of his. I admire his business sense but I rarely felt his music. I'll be happy when 50 does comedy full time. He's a funny dude.
I'm in love with him too - he's never been much of a talker to me and I've never really liked his music...but that body and physique makes me some kinda moist.
I don't have love for 50. I can't get with him. Maybe it's the southern in me but his Wanksta album was on point.
At least you get a chance to meet your crushes. I can even get close enough to breathe on folks!
I'm happy he makes money and does his thing (not to mention putting his folk on to the business). But the beef can be done without. Considering he doesn't need the publicity, I don't understand why he gets involved in such shenanigans.
I've never cared too much for his music. I'm sure I'll lose cool points for that. :-)
I always thought he was kindof handsome. His cuteness factor went up after getting those teeth shaved down. But his body always made up for his teeth.
I was such a 50 groupie when he came out...me and my aunt, lol. I loved me some him! Then I fell off of him when he got to "gangsta commericial". Now, I'm starting to feel him again, because his skits about officer ross are hilarious!!
Fiddy puts the "F" in fine! I don't always care for all of his songs, but I am a fan. I just wanna rub baby oil down his abs and back, just once that's all!!!! I always wish he wasn't so confrontational, but you gotta love that thuggish swag!!!!!
If you do marry 50 I will def send you a wedding gift!
I liked 50 when he had the fiyah mix tapes. But I'm not a fan of his music AT ALL! I think his shyt is SOOOOOO over rated!I hated in da club! I respect his business gangsta but I can't stand to hear him speak or to look at him! YUCK!
I think he's fine and all but he's a mess most of he time. Wouldn't it be cool if he read this and said yes!?! LOL!
@Darius - TMI
@Urban Thought - No cool points lost on this but you did lose some trying to start beef with me on twitter...lol
@Shelly - Ur such a hater!
@youngblackbeauty - you must have thought that was a fake proposal... that was real!!!lol
I was never a fan of his music, but these last few weeks with the Curly vids and "Tia told me"..I can't get him off of my mind!!!
I liked 50 when he first came out then just like that I was over his music, never thought he was cute though.
His business savvy has been an awesome thing to watch, it makes you realize that the mind of a street hustler is WAY superior to that of the regular dude or even the college white collar suit wearing guy on WStreet. For that I applaud him. I just wish that he would mature in this beef madness.
Hey nice pics....and I hope to see a response from him soon....haha
Eb... LOL... I heart twitter... I just had to take a break because I found myself texting from my phone to twitter way too much. Forgive me...
I lov e 50 also....maybe not as much as you do but I love him...lol
But to compare you love for 50 to my love for an artist would have to be T.I....I AM SOOOOOOOOO in love w/ this dude....
I never met him and I have no idea what I would do or say if I was in the same position you was when you met 50 ;)
BTW, I'm a lefty too :)
I don't care for 50's music, but...
50 could get it.
All day. Any day. lol....
Eb, I don't blame you girl.
I would've been as silent as a mute.
