I am taking Unknown Diva's advice

So thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday's post... but I am riding with Unknown. Her comment intrigued me so much that I looked to a compatibility test to see what it says about the Taurus dating a Taurus. Here is what it said:

Taurus and Taurus

When two Taureans come together in a love affair, it's a very sensuous and stable relationship -- which pleases both of them to no end. Those are two of the things a Taurus prizes most in a relationship (along with fidelity, sharing good food and other creature comforts ...) When two people both of this Sign get together, it can be the love connection of a lifetime. They will spoil one another to both their hearts' content: Taurus can respect their sweetheart's desire for life's little luxuries, because they have that need themselves. Both partners are charming, graceful and dignified. They can be quite stubborn and opinionated, not to mention jealous and possessive. All Tauruses have to learn to agree to disagree, and especially two Tauruses together; they need to recognize that their relationship is too good to jeopardize with minor arguments.

Taureans are blessed with strong willpower and commitment. They love the wooing process of courting, so the beginning, building stages of their relationship may stretch out deliciously. Taureans rarely rush into a relationship, but once they're committed, it's solid -- maybe even for life. When two Taureans get together, both provide and expect total devotion. Because of this devotion, a Taurus-Taurus pair may be more possessive of each other than most. Nothing upsets these lovers more than infidelity, but -- luckily -- because both partners are so dedicated to each other and the relationship and because Taureans tend to be very reliable, cheating is rare.

Taurus is ruled by the Planet Venus. When two people with Venus energy come together, it can be love at first sight. Both partners are highly romantic and loving, and they never tire of physical contact and touching. They are the great stamina Signs of the Zodiac; they love to go all day and all night and all the next day … They are highly sensual and both enjoy pampering. Emotional security is very important to them, but when this is guaranteed these partners can be as decadent and indulgent as they please. They can tend to be lazy, becoming overly relaxed in the moment, but generally they work very hard to maintain the lifestyle of luxury that they prefer.

The second paragraph is what convinced me not to give up so soon. So we'll see!

I just feel like if I initiate something and he still doesn't bite that I will never have to wonder. But if I don't initiate and be done with it, then I will end up chilling with idiots that have 10 times more issues about them. This is really the only issue that I have with Semipro, so if I do end up dipping out, I know I wont wonder if I was wrong for cutting him off so soon. I mean ya'll saw Why did I get married... even though this ain't even close to being anything about marriage, the same 80/20 rule applies when dating. Why would I give up so easy on someone that has 80 of what I want and end up dating a whole bunch of fools that only have 20.

So yesterday made me sit back and assess my other options for a date. Even though I don't like these dudes, just being out and about with them may help me get my swagger back if Semipro decides not to act right. (yeah I admit that messing with him has altered my tough girl swagger a bit, no JOKES... I can see Opinionated Diva's comment in my head already...lol)

1. JS - Has been on me heavy all week. Even invited me to have lunch with him next week. I wasn't feeling it. First of all he has locs, and I don't do locs. Granted their not long and nasty all down his back, they are about shoulder length and always neat but I just don't know. Then on top of that... he tried to holla at one of my home girls a couple months ago but she lied and told him she had a BF. I called him on it since I knew from the first day I met him that he had already tried to holla at her. He tried to play it off like he met her before seeing me and if he met us at the same time it might have been a different story. WTF ever. Try to spit that game on somebody that don't already know it... But I think I might just take him up on that lunch. He is a cool dude, just not physically attracted to him. Another one that has a kid though.... ugh!

2. Thirtyfive - That's his name because that's his age... I have a 5 year rule and he doesn't make that. Not attracted to him at all but he's been trying to chill for the last 2 weekends, but I have been cook-out hopping. He has this funky facial hair that he needs to do something with. I saw pics of him clean shaven and he's not too shabby but with that mess I just can't deal.

3. Then there's EX-PRO - lives in Atlanta, and wants me to be his GF for real. (@12kyle - not the dude your thinking because I wouldn't nickname him EX-PRO) But I only look at him like a friend so I don't want to lead him on. We talk a couple times a week and he keeps pressing me to come back down to ATL to visit. He's a sweetie, but way too nice, I know I could have him wrapped around my little finger if I wanted, and that is so unsexy. Plus I just feel like he needs to be worrying more about his next career move then being in a relationship and may not even want a relationship just want the comfort that it has since he is extremely disappointed in his career failure.

I also want to say thank you to April from AroundHarlem for making me realize that I do favor him more than the others. I really answer the phone only if I feel like it or am bored with the others, but always make time for Semipro via call or text. So operation making myself unavailable to him all the time has already begun.

He text me last night. He was out with the boys at a strip club to tell me he was at a strip club. So lame I know. So I wait 30 min and then text back "Have fun." He texts back..."Its whack, might come see you." I text back... "nah, i'm good."

So the games begin!!! I hate this ish...

Why do you feel like you have to choose from the bunch on your lineup right now? If none of them are what you want, why not sit this round out until something better comes along? Cut all those mofos and build a new team LOL!

Eb the Celeb July 18, 2008 at 10:06 AM

I have no idea... lol

Aint too many out there that make the cut... you know they scarce in NYC...building a new team is not easy at all, so if the couple that I know I already have good conversation with because their not knuckleheads want to take me out... then I'm gonna finally take them up on some offers to keep busy...

Unknown July 18, 2008 at 10:11 AM

girlfriend if you think NYC is scarce you need to head to Toronto! then you'll truly know what i'm going through-lolol-scarce is not the word! i was in NJ 2 weeks ago and was shocked by the number of guys who approached me - had me thinkin' i need to head south more often! but i don't blame you - nothing wrong with a meal and some companionship until the right one somes along...and if he does - find out if he's got a brother for me ;o)

Brown Girl Gumbo July 18, 2008 at 10:14 AM

As a Taurus...dating another Taurus sounds like a challenge. Too bull-headed, stubborn people together could be a recipe for disaster! lol

At least you have a whole team of players to keep you busy until the right one comes and sweeps you off your feet. Keep us posted and good luck!

Brown Girl Gumbo July 18, 2008 at 10:15 AM

Oops, I meant "Two bull-headed, stubborn people..."
Small typo. :-)

Ticia July 18, 2008 at 10:38 AM

Great - I am happy for you - you have a working plan!!

Monique July 18, 2008 at 10:41 AM

Girl, I'm a an Aries/Taurus and you know we throw ourselves completely into relationships. Passionate is a great word to describe us. If the guys you listed, it sounds like the last one is be worth at least one date. I'm a firm believer in letting them find you but if you run across something that looks interesting and possibility worth the time, just at it.

I'm sure it will all work out.

Eb the Celeb July 18, 2008 at 11:36 AM

@BGG - this is my first time dating a taurus and it has been a headache... I dont even know how we lasted this long... probably because we werent in the same city for the beginning part... I mean when we met it was an argument... this has most definitely been a challenge... i thought virgo men were the worst... but taurus men are right up there with them

@monique - yeah... I try not to admit it but when you get me... I love hard... and aint nothing I wont do for my man... only 1 man was able to see that part of me though...

@Rich - you funny... I honestly dont think any of this is going to work... because he's just like me and I would be like "f*&k it then" but we'll see.

Dave Van Buren July 18, 2008 at 11:57 AM

lmao@ the build a new team comment.

You should give dude a real chance. that 80/20 rule is really true.

And whats with everyone and Astrology? that shyt don't mean anything. You are who you are it has nothing to do with when you were born.

nikki July 18, 2008 at 12:10 PM

i hate games, but if they gotta be played, play to win!

*nodding my head*@"nah, i'm good". LOVE IT.

BeautyinBaltimore July 18, 2008 at 12:12 PM

You know, I really believe that astrology tells us a lot about ourselves and others but I never use it with men. I must ask the swinger what his sign is.

KIKI July 18, 2008 at 12:41 PM

LOL...I'm not laughing at your delimna. I'm laughing cause I feel your pain. Mr Wonderful is a Taurus so I know exactly what your going thru. He wants you...he just playin hard to get.

9 times outta 10...he knows you diggin him. He's diggin you to. And I'm not saying it's cool to play games, but I gotta fellin once he see's you may be given a other time he should/could be gettin, he'll start to make a turn around.

And what you said in the last post about needing a late 20's man that has the common sense of a late 30's man. Ummmm...exscuse me...but who told you they get any more damn sense when they're in their 30's? Chile puh-leese...it dont get no better. LMAO

Eb the Celeb July 18, 2008 at 12:46 PM

@kiki - lmao... whew that was funny as hell... your comments always crack me up... so the late 30's ones are just as bad... wth!

Sweet KeiKei July 18, 2008 at 3:13 PM

wow eb....i feel good that u acknowledged my comment cuz i was feelin kinda left out that u aint respond in the comments section yesterday. lol

but seriously i think u got the right idea. i ain't no expert though (even with comparing signs)cuz i still aint got no man myself!!!

@super dave van buren - astrology does not mean everything and i try not to put too much on emphasis on sign compatibility cuz everyone is made up of that AND are shaped by their experiences in life but i have found it tells alot about a person, how they act and what they like. but, of course, that's just my opinion :)

Keith July 18, 2008 at 3:44 PM

Don't be afraid at this point to ask for what you want..and expect to get it. I'm a cut to the chase
type of person. I feel better just knowing where I am.

kit von b. July 18, 2008 at 4:29 PM

yea i just learned a few things reading ur last post and the comments. interesting.

well if you fell you are doing what is best for you, keep trucking. i have faith in your ability to discern what is right for you.

i have faith in what you're doing.

Anonymous July 18, 2008 at 5:43 PM

I don't envy you - AT ALL! I'm kinda glad I'm off the market cuz this would drive me nuts. I've always been the type to lay it all out on the line (I'm a cancer *sigh) and if dude feelin me...great. If not...bye. Just that simple, but I understand this doesn't work for every body so hang in there and see what becomes of it.

Miss Snarky Pants July 18, 2008 at 6:28 PM

"Why would I give up so easy on someone that has 80 of what I want and end up dating a whole bunch of fools that only have 20"

Exxxxxxxxxxxxxxactly!!!

Anonymous July 18, 2008 at 6:42 PM

I don't know. I love love Taurus men just hate their stubborness. My man is a Taurus and we bump heads sometimes because he thinks he's always right.

Usually they don't like to play games and are really straight forward which I love If they feeling a woman they do tend to treat her like a queen... always showing her that she is appreciated loved. They put their women on a pedestal.

I agree with you on not making your self soo available to him tho

Ms.Seven Supa Sized July 18, 2008 at 8:01 PM

***long sigh*** I'm feeling you on this post. I'm reevaluating my options. I have a total of 6 on the line up and only 1 stands out more than the rest. Of course that's Firefighter. He knows I'm soft on him. I hate that he knows it. At the same time, I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. I seriously don't know if I'm coming or going. I've been leaving the men thing to God. I feel a blog entry coming on because this one has seriously been messing with me...

Eb the Celeb July 18, 2008 at 8:55 PM

@unknown - girl... why were you feeling bad... I only respond to comment that need more verification... yours was very plain and left me speechless

@one soulful - you always have the sweetest comments... thx

@durtymo- that probably has to be the best part about being married... that you dont have to deal with this dating bull no more..

@seven - I feel you.. that's why semipro acts the way he does because he knows I am feeling him... so the best thing probably is for me to pull back a little bit since he thinks he has the upper hand

i.can't.complain. July 18, 2008 at 9:25 PM

perhaps i missed something...

where's semi-pro

u guys still seeing each other?

-1-

Eb the Celeb July 18, 2008 at 9:32 PM

@ -1- he playing hard to get... if that's what you wanna call it... only doing enough to stay relevant cuz he knows I'm feeling him... so operation 2 can play that game has went into full effect

bored_eats July 19, 2008 at 1:24 AM

oh my gosh...you wrote my mind lol..i too am in a similar situation you are in with JS...like exact!!!!

i dont know what to do either...holla'd at the friend...tryin to date me...yet im not that physically attracted to him...you think looks are that important...i mean as much as people "claim" its not the most important thing...it is the first thing and reason why someone would approach anyone...but..i dont know what to do...let us know what happens with the mens! good luck girl.

shine July 19, 2008 at 1:24 AM

your text was killer. i know that you want it to be over, but sometimes u've got to pull back for him to see you more clearly.

All-Mi-T [Thought Crime] Rawdawgbuffalo July 19, 2008 at 12:58 PM

Anonymous July 19, 2008 at 4:13 PM

I say start a new line up!!

OG, The Original Glamazon July 20, 2008 at 7:57 AM

Good good good, I think moving around is always good. I believe in moving around until he sits you down and says I need you to move in my life only(metaphorically speaking of course).

And not being available is always good. I think a man should always need to make the effort towards you especially in the beginning. Sometimes unavailability makes them try harder. GOOD GOOD GOOD.

I think often if a man is force to move towards you has to really think and thus really know he wants you, when you are available all the time sometimes the relationship is something that is convenience for him. So again GOOD GOOD GOOD

I thought you knew Semi-pro was the star of your team. *lol*

I think if more women just moved around it would make their life better. Dating is not bad, putting your eggs in one basket that's the issue. Most men date other women until the decided who is right for them, we should be doing the same thing.

I'm not even gonna comment on the team because I know those players could change daily.

I've been married and dating after my divorce really helped me see where I didn't know myslef. Helped me understand the kind of man I needed and the kind that I couldn't deal with. This is so GOOD GOOD GOOD for you!!

I think dating around will be good for you!! It will help you more clearly understand what you want and need in a relationship and it will also be fun and make things easier if semi-pro and you stall.

Oh yeah I had to break myself of the same habit, being available to TOM A and hitting ignore or whatever when others called. That's a good look.

-OG

Miss Fab July 20, 2008 at 12:36 PM

i really enjoyed your posting, and you being so personal.

Dating is so funny at times.

Just let each guy reveal himself to you.
I think the saying goes "believe people when they show you who they are"
so you will know with due time which way to go.

Mr.Slish July 20, 2008 at 1:27 PM

Eb you know i'm a Taurus right....SEMI-PRO is not serious if he was believe me he would not be texting you about being in some strip club...He would text you hours before saying his boys want to go to the strip club, but he'd rather come and spend time with you...Once again little moccasin you're making it too easy.

Taurus men have a way of rationalizing inappropiate behavior its always under the guise " At least I always tell you the truth " But lies can be told while telling the truth .Its called Omission...

Unknown July 20, 2008 at 2:09 PM

Ok, somebody sounds like they're settling! Trust this Luv... be patient for what you want! If you enter on the grounds of compromise, then you will be hurting in 6 months. Let it come to you... but only in time! Oh, before I forget:

Papa's got a brand new Bag!

Come see me!

Oh yeah, stop in at my original site, there's a complete explanation to why I've been missing in action!

Sherlon Christie July 20, 2008 at 3:25 PM

Granted. I didn't read all the previous comments...so this might have been said already.

You don't sound happy with any of them...so why continue to make yourself unhappy with people that don't hold your interest?

I have ZERO tolerance for bullshit these days and cut people off faster than you can blink. I work too hard and if I'm spending my free time on you...you better be worth it.

Keli July 20, 2008 at 3:49 PM

Easier said then done...but don't approach it like a game...the final outcome of a game only has one winner...a tie is not a desirable outcome. That's just my two cents...I wish you the best...affairs of the heart are always not black and white, and for a woman that likes control...sometimes its hard to remember that another person is involved...meaning that our feelings are not the only ones that matter. It will be all good.

CapCity July 20, 2008 at 6:10 PM

"it could be a kkk function for a 5& 16oz steak, id be there" - T-Dawg iz CRAZY!!! LOLOL!

Hey Girlie - am I gonna see this semipro @ Weds. Happy hour or is that a cold-shoulder don't tell his azz shyt bout it event? LOL!

Just keep enjoyin' life, Li'l Sis. All this man drama will work itself out - leas' tha's what i keep tellin' myself! LOL!

Eb the Celeb July 20, 2008 at 7:23 PM

@Slish - lmao @ you calling me little moccasin...

@spchrist - my friends say I cut people off too quick.. 2008 was suppose to be the year that I start giving guys a chance... and now everyone in the blog world is telling me to go back to cutting dudes off... I dont know what to do

@Cap - no he will not be there... I dont bring guys that arent official around friends... only 1 of my homegirls has met him and that's because she was with me the night we met... a couple of my homeboys know him because they used to play ball together... plus... I am working on getting a new team so that will be on the agenda for that night...lol

Unknown July 20, 2008 at 9:31 PM

What's up EB?!? Just stopped by to check in. We are finally settled in after the big move from NY to TX.
I pray that all is well with you!
Blessings!

Anonymous July 21, 2008 at 2:44 PM

You might need to go on a 30-day relationship/man-seeking fast like me. Cut all the maybes out, clear your mind and your options, and just watch what happens.

I've been on it a week now and feel so much better. I can feel "it" on the horizon.

Eb the Celeb July 21, 2008 at 2:47 PM

@jewells... good idea but might have to postpone that to september or october when it starts getting cool out but right now I'm on the prowl...lol

Mimi July 21, 2008 at 3:11 PM

From a taurus to a fellow taurus, all I can say is Go with your heart. We love hard, but you never what may happen unless you take chances and are up front with what you feel.

Anonymous July 23, 2008 at 4:14 PM

well you know im a taurus, and i definetely know that i seem to butt heads with alot of girls b/c im me and im gonna be me reguardless... ive tried, but i have to remain faithfull to myself, hence the tatoo "be faithful to thy self" across my shoulders. :)
