Musings of a 30-something who's personality ranges from millennial to cougar, trying to figure out this thing called life. Unapologetically living it up in NYC, but daily contemplates moving because this city made a lot more sense in my 20s.

Zora Neale Hurston is definitely the business. When I read, "Their Eyes Were Watching God", I was hooked. I'm now reading Mules and men, also written by her, and it's definitely a good look.
It seems she's being a little gloomy with that quote. And truthful too...
Classic...this is so true!
That quote is something to ponder.
truth. zora spoke truth. great words to conclude my week with.
thanks.
Very deep and True. Happiness is so many things, and so many things equate happiness for each person, respectively.
Very profound thought. It's funny you should bring this up. I'm reading "The Traveler's Gift," a book about making seven decisions to live a better life.
Last night, I read the fifth decision which was, "Today I will choose to be happy."
Since I'm going through what is commonly being referred to as my quarter-life crisis, I'm looking for all the materials I can find that can start me on my path to becoming the happy person I'm supposed to be.
While reading last night, I had what Oprah calls an "a-ha" moment. Reading that drove home the point that happiness is a choice. Nobody wakes up happy unless they choose to do so.
The book is awesome, I recommend it to anyone going through.
after i read 'there eyes were watching god'...i was in love with her!
Sometimes Zora be on some other stuff! We all know the way to true happiness!

Oh, how i love this!
Deep! Something to think about.
Now I loves me some Ms. Zora but I'm gonna have to respectfully slightly disagree with this statement lol, maybe she was having a bad day when she made this quote.
Beautifully & Eloquently Put!!! HEY SIS!!! HAPPY FRIDAY :-)
That's tight. Never thought of it that way.
Just wanted to stop by. I've been being a stranger to my blog family.
Please forgive me. I have been living life through a black veil.
Bitter sweet.
