Is the world really ready for an openly gay rapper?

I am so torn by what I just saw. First and foremost because I love my gays... but I don't want to see what you do and how you do it with another man. Yeah me and my gay homies can relate when a fine scrumptulous something walks down the street looking oh so chocolatey... but when it gets to the point of an actual vision of how it goes down between 2 men, you can spare me the details. Now watch this mess.

1. You gotta do better. The song is terrible and you cant rap. I'm hoping you aren't going to be the face and the sound of the movement.
2. Is what you do in the bedroom going to be the sole purpose of the movement? Why can't you make a regular party record and it just be a known fact that you are gay without that being rammed in everyone's faces. I mean do white rappers constantly say their white every second of every song. NO, so I don't need to know every other word if you're the giver or the taker.
3. I do feel the world is ready for a gay rapper. You just have to be strategic about it. Fact of the matter is, the only people still "weirded" out about the whole thing are straight black men and they aren't the ones buying music so do what it do boyz, just make sure the music is good, unlike this trash above.

Ha @ the video and the lyrics. After giving it little thought I slightly disagree with you about the song/presentation/etc. To me, it really is no different than any other rap song out there right now that is talking about what a man is diggin', what he wants to do to it and all of that. The only difference is that this man is talking about what he is diggin' in another man vs. what other rappers dig in women. Right?

Rap is pretty much down hill these days anyway with its lyrics, so if dudes can get away with talking about how they wanna recruit girls and sell them on craig's list, I think this dude should be free to talk about how he's addicted to boys, and how much he likes big dicks, lol. Either way, it ain't gonna be for everybody, as much rap ain't for me, but hell, its gonna be for some and that's who will ultimately be feeling him and his music.

I think just because of the homophobia in hip hop as it stands right now, he'll definitely have a hard time crossing over, but perhaps that's not his focus, I don't really know. What I do know is that there is a market for his music because he's not the only openly gay rapper. There is already a movement, its just one that rests within the queer community instead of mainstream.

Ms. Bar B has a point. It's not much different from all the other rap songs out there including the terrible video and wack lyrics. I don't feel the public is ready for a openly gay rapper especially if their songs revolve around that fact. Dudes haven't stopped using "no homo" so if a song even close to this plays on the radio, you KNOW they ain't feeling it.

There are still so many barriers to entry for female rappers, an openly gay rapper would never get a break.

he's not a 4 real rapper....look up Bry'nt he's an actual gay rapper that has some talent and has some buzz he's actually the most well known right now. here's his myspace.

The dude above makes his vids for mostly comedy....but his lyrics are no different than any other rapper saying how much pussy they fuck...

It should be known that I dont accept foolishness like this from straight rappers either... I'm a fan of good music PERIOD... people that read my music blog no that... so it has nothing to do with him being gay or straight... but good music and already having the world against you... this isn't the way to help it crossover. That was my main point.

here's another rapper who happens to be gay who goes by the name of last offence

I just wouldn't feel right if people thought the rapper mentioned in this post is represenative "gay rap"

Have not watched the video, but I think the thing is, with many gays...they want to throw what they do behind close doors in our face...

I don't want to see it with straight folks either. Some stuff is better kept on the down low.

If you're a gay rapper...cool...but don't make a mockery of the art form or the demographic.

*just threw up in my mouth a lil bit*
WOW. Um, I could do a gay rapper, but this...just pure fukkery. FAIL.
*secretly jelly homeboy's bootie pop was better than mine*

gay rapper? yeah, I don't think that's gonna happen. that genre of the industry is way too homophobic.

plus his delivery is weak. if the lyrics had been I'm addicted to girls I would have written him off as another YouTube rapper with no hopes of making the big time.
