I better not get a 1 *sideeye* for this RBW Spotlight. Yes she has had some lows in her career but what TRUE Renaissance Black Woman hasn't. Shall I remind you of her highs (careerwise, not what ya'll were thinking...lol) Check out this vid.
I am beyond excited for her return. This will be her 7th studio album and she hasn't released an album in 7 years. I keep her Greatest Hits double disc in rotation, and her songs on the Waiting to Exhale Soundtrack are some of my favs. As yo saw in the video the new album drops September 1st. It's rumored that she worked with Ne-Yo on this project.
Just in case you wanted to debate the validity of her being a Renaissance Black Woman...
In 2006, the Guiness Book of World Records named her the Most Awarded/Popular Female Artist of all time. Want to know why.... well here it go:

We all know she dabbles in film/acting as well but besides being in The Bodyguard, Waiting to Exhale, The Preacher's Wife, Cinderella, and random guest appearances on TV shows, she is the Executive Producer of Both Cheetah Girls movies, as well as both Princess Diaries movies.
I'm really anticipating this comeback and hope that it is everything I hoped it would be and more.

Lost sympathy for her a while back, always thought she was more alley than lady. But she could sang her buttt off.
you dont have to have sympathy for her to appreciate what she's contributed to music...
Can't be mad at old Whit Whit. She's had a great musical career, its her personal life that was in the Shit.
Hey there!
I really hope that Whitney is going to make a TREMENDOUS comeback!! She has an amazing gift and she WILL rise again from the ashes! I am so happy that her record CEO, Clive Owens, never gave up on her and never dropped her from the label. He knew she could turn things around in her life...and hopefully...this time, she has!
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!

*LOL* More alley than lady...
Now that is just a very gentlemenly way of saying "ummm..she's a crack head"! *LOL*
I give you three snaps in Z-formation for your tact.
I always dug her music. I'd put her up against anybody on stage -- Patty, Mariah, Gladys - anybody. Whitney can get down with the best of them.
OMG!! I love Whitney! I can't believe I missed this post somehow. No one can even begin to have a debate about how great Whitney is, despite her mistakes. I'm too excited about this album dropping.
Might be one of the few albums I buy these year! ;)
