As an educated black woman, we all know that the numbers are against most of us if we actually want to marry a black man. I took the time to assess my own personal situation in relation to some of the statistics and it's currently featured on EmpressMag.com. You can check the article out HERE.

Hey girl. I just found your blog yesterday and I love it. Just thought I'd say that before I get to your article on black women finding "Mr. Right".

I read the article and I have to say, I agree with you on black women or women in general that have a way of making impossible list for themselves to achieve by a certain age. I am 21 years old, soon to be 22 at the end of this month and when I was in high school I planned my whole life out; Married at 25 years old, two kids each a year a part, and of course an ebony God( hell any race will do.lol.) who would love me unconditional.

The one thing I forgot about is how do I go about finding a brotha that wants to be with a woman like me. I have yet to find a guy that I would want to marry and bring around my family. Finding any type of guy that wants to marry young is hard, so I am going to work on myself and finish accomplishing my goals and keep it moving. If an intelligent and humble guy comes my way and start picking on me God will let me notice and things will go from there.

I found this article very clever and well written. I hope to one day write as good as you.lol.

This article was very interesting and I will definately pass this on to some of my friends.

Anice - Thank you so much for your kind words. I was actually thinking about shutting down this blog at the end of the year because I didn't feel my heart was fully in it anymore but your comment just gave me a new light. I'm happy that you stumbled across it and found something that you can take with you.

Funny that you wrote about this, I was over at a friends house and I was talking about possibly joining match.com or even Eharmony, and my friends husband says that he can't understand why women do that, or let alone men.. He sees it as being desperate and unnatural. I had to explain to him that sometimes when you become accomplished and you get ahead in life you aren't afforded some of the same luck as men are. And that sometimes we have to take things into our own hands and make this possible..

Do what you have to honey!

OOh and plz don't think of shutting this down.. this is how I met you.. and it would be a shame not to come and read up on you.. take a hiatus if you have to but not away for good..

Happy gobble gobble day hon!!

I just read your comment to Anice about possibly shutting this blog down and I thought I should comment for once.

You are probably not aware that this is my One stop shop blog. If I need to come here for a laugh, advice, check out some eye candy, get my neosoul update on and even read other blogs...this it. I come here.

Im single, 27, African, have a degree and desire to marry my black prince but live in a predominantly anglo saxan country. Everything you say about relationships just make sense to me. Its like you are in my head. Your posts and quotes on relationships have backed me up when Im advising my girls all the way over here in Australia about how a RBW should act. To be totally lame and cliche you inspire bishes over this side.

We don't do thanksgiving over here but Im still thankful I found your blog last year.

@Lyric - Online dating works for some but I've tried it and have only gotten responses from creepy looking people so I didn't have a profile up for more than a month...

@K- aawwwee thank you so much for saying that... part of me just feels like I've outgrown this blog... the renaissance in me will never die but may just need a little reinvention. But thank you for your comment. I have used this as a public diary and never expected it to touch people the way it has but I'm happy that ladies on the other side of the globe can relate.

"So instead of dwelling on statistics and worrying about what day may or may not ever come, I'm taking the time to work on me, so that if/when he does find me, I am the best ME that I can be."

The best part of a great article, I dont think you will have to wait long, good women dont stay single.
